Apple is preparing to unveil its latest innovations at the Awe Dropping event scheduled for September 9 at the company’s Cupertino headquarters. This will be the biggest hardware showcase of the year for the tech giant, and expectations are high. The iPhone 17 series will headline the event, but Apple is also tipped to introduce new Apple Watches and an upgraded version of AirPods Pro. Let’s take a closer look at what you can expect.

iPhone 17 Series: Major Upgrades Coming

Apple is likely to introduce four models this year – iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The all new iPhone 17 Air is expected to replace the Plus model and bring a thinner, lighter design with a horizontal camera layout, making it the sleekest iPhone ever created. Reports suggest it could measure just 5.5 millimeters in thickness and weigh about 145 grams.

All four models are expected to feature a 120Hz ProMotion LTPO OLED display, promising smoother visuals. Display sizes could vary, with the iPhone 17 featuring a 6.3 inch screen, the Air version offering a 6.6 inch display, and the Pro and Pro Max maintaining their 6.3 and 6.8 inch sizes.

On the camera front, Apple is rumored to double the resolution of the selfie shooter from 12MP to 24MP, delivering sharper images and allowing up to 2x cropping without losing quality. The Pro models are also tipped to introduce a powerful 48MP telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom, making them the first iPhones with a triple 48MP camera setup.

Performance is also getting a boost. The iPhone 17 Pro will reportedly come with the new A19 Pro chipset built on a 3nm process, while the iPhone 17 and 17 Air could get the standard A19 chip. Memory upgrades are expected too, with 12GB RAM on all models except the base iPhone 17.

Battery capacity is another highlight, with the iPhone 17 Pro Max possibly featuring a massive 5,000mAh battery, the largest ever on an iPhone.

New Apple Watches: Smarter and Faster

Alongside the iPhones, Apple is expected to launch the Apple Watch Series 11 and the rugged Watch Ultra 3. Both models are likely to run on the brand new S11 processor and come preloaded with WatchOS 26, bringing faster performance and more intelligent health tracking features.

The company may also refresh the affordable Watch SE line, which has not seen a new model since 2022. This could make the Apple Watch lineup more appealing across different price ranges.

AirPods Pro 3: A Big Upgrade for Audio Lovers

The AirPods Pro 3 are rumored to make their debut at the event, delivering a fresh design and advanced performance powered by Apple’s new H3 chipset. The upgrades could bring improved Active Noise Cancellation, longer battery life, and exciting health tracking features such as heart rate monitoring and temperature sensing.

Why This Event Matters

Apple events always attract global attention, but this year’s Awe Dropping showcase feels especially significant. From a brand new iPhone design to smarter Apple Watches and health focused AirPods, Apple is looking to redefine the experience of its ecosystem.

Tech enthusiasts and Apple fans will be watching closely to see how these updates shape the future of the company’s devices.
