Despite recession fears, social shopping app GoWish is thriving. With over 13.6 million users, including 6.2 million in the U.S., GoWish hit No. 2 on the App Store this week — its best performance yet.

Originally launched in 2015 by PostNord as “Ønskeskyen,” the app was later acquired by Dotcom Capital and rebranded as GoWish. It lets users create multiple wish lists, discover products, and share them with friends or family.

The company has over 65,000 affiliate and 700 brand partnerships, generating $1.7 million in post-tax profit in 2024, which it is reinvesting in global growth.
Backed by Capital D and Dotcom Capital, GoWish is now expanding aggressively through marketing on Meta, TikTok, Google, and Snap — with Snap even spotlighting it in earnings calls.
“We want to be the global genie of social shopping,” says co-founder Casper Ravn Sørensen.
