Xiaomi has begun rolling out the stable version of its latest HyperOS 2.2 update for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra in India. The update introduces a refreshed user interface, several performance improvements, a redesigned camera app, and updated security enhancements. Indian users of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra have reported receiving the firmware version OS2.0.201.0.VNAINXM, which weighs approximately 1.3GB and is based on Android 15.
One of the most notable changes included in the update is a complete redesign of the camera interface. The camera app now features a more streamlined menu structure with an updated settings page, offering better usability for both casual and professional users. In addition, Xiaomi has added a new feature allowing custom placement of watermarks on photos, offering more creative control to users.
The update also focuses on visual aesthetics and functionality throughout the device. System icons and wallpapers have been renovated to offer a more cohesive look. The new wallpapers now support a blur effect for the home screen, adding depth and clarity to app visibility. Classic UI pages, app launch animations, and full screen indicators have also been refined to offer smoother transitions and better responsiveness.
Xiaomi has made changes to the navigation experience as well. A direct shortcut to system navigation settings has been introduced in the Home screen settings, giving users quicker access to layout preferences. The long press gesture for the full screen indicator has been optimised to prevent accidental activation of Xiaomi’s Hyper XiaoAi assistant.
Scrolling performance in some third party applications has reportedly improved with this update. Several users noted smoother transitions while browsing content heavy platforms. Xiaomi has also fixed multiple bugs, including issues with wallpapers and animation inconsistencies when opening or closing apps. Gesture related problems in specific use cases have also been addressed, enhancing the overall responsiveness of the system.
A significant addition is the new customisable Lock screen shortcut menu, which now supports a lens effect on wallpapers. This small but stylish enhancement reflects Xiaomi’s continued emphasis on providing a polished and premium software experience across its flagship devices.
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra was launched in India in March of last year with a price tag of 99999 rupees. It features a 6.73 inch LTPO AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, a 5000mAh battery with 90W wired and 80W wireless charging, and a powerful quad camera setup. The HyperOS skin built on Android 14 was a key feature of the phone at launch, and this new update further enhances that foundation.
Xiaomi is expected to bring the HyperOS 2.2 update to more devices in its portfolio over the coming weeks. Users of the Xiaomi 14 Ultra can now look forward to a more refined software experience with improved visuals, better camera controls, and smoother everyday interactions.
