Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy Z Fold 7 in India at its Galaxy Unpacked 2025 event, marking the debut of one of the brand’s most anticipated foldable smartphones. The latest Fold arrives with a refined design, a top tier Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, a brighter and more immersive internal display, and an even more powerful camera setup. With multiple storage variants and a lightweight build, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 aims to set new standards for flagship foldable devices in India.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is priced at Rs 174999 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model, while the 512GB variant costs Rs 186999. The top end model with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage comes in at Rs 210999. Buyers can choose from Jetblack, Silver Shadow, and Blue Shadow colours, along with an online exclusive Mint edition. The foldable is available for pre order via Samsung’s official website, with sales beginning on July 25. As part of a limited time offer, customers pre booking the 512GB variant can get it at the price of the 256GB version if ordered before July 12.
Samsung has focused on slimming down the design of its foldables this year. The Z Fold 7 is just 4.2 millimetres thick when unfolded and 8.9 millimetres when folded. The phone weighs 215 grams, making it lighter than last year’s model, which weighed 239 grams. The use of an Armor Aluminum frame adds strength without compromising weight. The hinge system also sees an upgrade with the new Armor FlexHinge, which aims to improve durability and reduce visible creasing on the screen.
On the front, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 features a 6.5 inch full HD plus Dynamic AMOLED 2X outer display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Inside, users are greeted with an 8 inch QXGA plus AMOLED Infinity Flex Display that supports up to 2600 nits of peak brightness. Both displays offer improved durability with Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the cover screen and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the rear panel.
The phone runs on Android 16 with Samsung’s One UI 8, offering several AI enhancements. These include features like Gemini Live, Circle to Search, Drawing Assist, Writing Assist, and AI Results View. These tools are designed to streamline tasks and offer smarter on device suggestions that feel integrated into daily usage.
Performance is driven by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, which is optimized for multitasking, gaming, and AI workloads. Paired with up to 16GB of RAM, the device offers a seamless experience even during demanding tasks. Storage options range from 256GB to 1TB, giving users plenty of space for apps, media, and productivity.
Camera performance gets a major boost with the addition of a 200 megapixel primary sensor on the rear. It is joined by a 12 megapixel ultra wide lens and a 10 megapixel telephoto sensor offering 3x optical zoom. The phone also has a 10 megapixel selfie camera on both the cover and inner displays. The upgraded ProVisual Engine is designed to improve image quality, especially in low light conditions, and enables better AI driven photo processing.
Powering the phone is a 4400mAh battery with support for 25W wired charging. Samsung claims it can charge up to 50 percent in just 30 minutes. Wireless options include Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 and Wireless PowerShare, enabling users to charge accessories and other phones directly from the device.
The phone retains its IP48 rating, which provides a level of dust and water resistance. Connectivity features include support for 5G, LTE, Wi Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and a host of sensors for accurate tracking and interaction. The side mounted fingerprint sensor ensures fast and secure unlocking.
With the Fold 7, Samsung continues to refine its foldable lineup, offering users a more compact, powerful, and feature rich experience. It pushes forward in design and performance while maintaining a strong focus on durability and usability.
