UK based consumer tech brand Nothing has officially confirmed the launch date for its first over the ear headphones. The product, named Nothing Headphone 1, will be revealed globally on July 1, and will launch alongside the much awaited Nothing Phone 3. This announcement was made by company founder and CEO Carl Pei during the SXSW event in London, where he shared key insights into the company’s future lineup.

The Nothing Headphone 1 marks a significant milestone for the brand, as it steps into a new segment of audio wearables. Known for its transparent design language and minimalist product philosophy, Nothing has already made a name for itself with multiple TWS earphones like the Nothing Ear and the recently introduced Ear Open. This is the first time the company is venturing into the over ear headphone category, aiming to deliver high end audio with a unique aesthetic.

Carl Pei revealed that the new headphones will feature a distinctive design that will stay true to the brand’s core identity. Engineers at Nothing have worked on tactile, easy to identify buttons that users can operate comfortably even while wearing the headphones. While detailed specifications have not yet been disclosed, early leaks suggest that the headphones will support premium wireless audio features and come in black and white colour options.

A few months ago, a model labeled B170 appeared on certification platforms, hinting at the development of a new wireless headphone product. Although that listing did not include specific technical details, it confirmed that Nothing was preparing to expand its audio product portfolio. The brand has now confirmed that those early speculations were indeed linked to Headphone 1.

Industry insiders have speculated that Nothing Headphone 1 could be priced at around 299 dollars, roughly translating to 25,700 rupees. If the leaked pricing holds true, it would place the device in the premium audio segment, directly competing with offerings from brands like Sony, Bose, and Apple. This positions the headphones not just as a stylish accessory but as a serious performer in the wireless audio space.

Meanwhile, the Nothing Phone 3 will also debut on the same day, serving as the successor to the popular Phone 2. With a refined design, enhanced internals, and new software improvements expected, the Phone 3 is likely to push the company’s smartphone innovation forward while staying rooted in its clean and transparent design language.

The July 1 launch event is shaping up to be one of the biggest days in the brand’s history, with two major product categories seeing simultaneous refreshes. As Nothing prepares to expand its footprint in both mobile and audio markets, expectations from consumers and industry watchers alike are at an all time high.
