As excitement builds around the next iPhone launch, a fresh leak has surfaced that might offer the clearest glimpse yet at the design and colour choices of the upcoming iPhone 17 series. Shared by tech tipster Sonny Dickson, a new set of leaked lens protection covers suggests not only a broad spectrum of new colourways but also confirms some major design changes for Apple’s most awaited lineup of the year.
According to the leak, Apple appears to be preparing four models in the iPhone 17 series. These include the standard iPhone 17, the newly introduced iPhone 17 Air, the iPhone 17 Pro, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max. With each model reportedly arriving in a distinct set of colour options, Apple seems to be betting big on personalisation and aesthetic variety.
The vanilla iPhone 17 is expected to arrive in six colour options. The lens protection covers reveal shades of black, grey, silver, light blue, light green, and light purple. This selection blends classic choices with subtle, pastel-inspired hues, potentially appealing to a wide range of users from minimalists to those looking for soft, fresh tones.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 17 Air, which is anticipated to replace the iPhone 16 Plus in this cycle, is seen with lens covers in four colours. These are black, silver, light gold, and light blue. The Air model is positioned as a lighter, possibly more affordable sibling in the lineup, and its colours reflect a balance of elegance and simplicity.
As for the Pro models, the leak suggests Apple is going bolder. The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max lens covers appear in black, grey, silver, dark blue, and a striking orange shade that could actually be a dark gold or copper tone. This warm metallic colour stands out from Apple’s usual palette and could be a signature highlight for the high-end variants.
But the colour reveal is only part of the story. The same leaks have also hinted at a significant redesign of the rear camera module, particularly on the Pro models. According to the images, the familiar triangular camera layout may be replaced by a new rectangular camera bar with three circular lenses placed on the left. On the right side of the camera island, the LED flash and LiDAR sensor are reportedly positioned for better symmetry and functionality.
Another noticeable change is the placement of the Apple logo. The leaked hands-on images show the logo shifted slightly lower than in current models, suggesting Apple is making refined design adjustments that may enhance the overall visual balance of the phone. These subtle tweaks could play a bigger role in branding and user recognition than one might expect.
The iPhone 17 series is also expected to retain features like aluminium middle frames and MagSafe support. These elements continue to play a role in Apple’s ecosystem strategy, especially as MagSafe accessories gain popularity in the user base.
With a projected launch later this year, most likely in September, Apple fans and industry insiders are watching every new detail closely. These recent leaks not only reinforce earlier reports but also give a much clearer picture of what might be one of the most diverse and design-forward iPhone lineups in recent years.
As always, nothing is confirmed until Apple takes the stage. But if these leaks are any indication, the iPhone 17 series could mark a bold new phase in Apple’s approach to both design and user expression.
