Fairphone has officially launched its sixth generation smartphone, continuing its mission to deliver sustainable and easily repairable devices. The Fairphone 6 offers a unique blend of user first features, long term software support, and hardware transparency, making it one of the most eco conscious and consumer friendly smartphones on the market. With features like a removable battery, recycled materials, and eight years of software updates, the device aims to redefine what long term smartphone ownership looks like.

The Fairphone 6 is equipped with a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor and features a 6.3 inch OLED display with a full HD resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. It ships with Android 15 out of the box and has been confirmed to receive official support until the year 2033. Users also get a military grade durable build with IP55 water and dust resistance, all while enjoying the convenience of a user replaceable 4,415mAh battery. This battery supports 30W wired charging and promises over 12 hours of web browsing on a single charge.

A standout feature of the Fairphone 6 is its modularity. The phone contains 12 replaceable parts, allowing users to independently swap out everything from the battery to the display and camera modules. This do it yourself approach drastically increases the lifespan of the device and reduces e waste. The company also backs the phone with a five year warranty, reflecting its confidence in both durability and software longevity.

The phone sports a 50 megapixel Sony Lytia 700C main rear camera with optical image stabilization, paired with a 13 megapixel ultra wide angle lens. The front camera features a 32 megapixel sensor optimized for clear selfies and video calls. For storage, the Fairphone 6 comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 2TB using a microSD card.

Connectivity options include Wi Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, GPS, USB Type C, and support for dual SIM cards. It also features a side mounted fingerprint scanner and supports facial recognition. Built using 14 recycled or fair trade materials, the Fairphone 6 is positioned as an ethical choice in a market often dominated by short upgrade cycles and sealed devices.

The device is now available in select markets including the UK and the EU, priced at EUR 599 for the standard version and EUR 649 for the privacy focused /e/OS model. It is available in three colors: Cloud White, Forest Green, and Horizon Black. Optional accessories like screen protectors, flip covers, card holders, and lanyards are also available to complement the phone.

The Fairphone 6 reaffirms the brand's vision of tech that puts users and the planet first. It is not just a smartphone, but a statement about mindful consumption and long term value.
