The next big leap in smartphone photography may arrive sooner than expected. Vivo’s upcoming X300 Pro has reportedly surfaced in a fresh round of leaks, revealing camera specifications that suggest the phone could redefine mobile zoom and clarity. If the early reports are to be believed, Vivo is not holding back this time.
According to a post by reliable tipster Digital Chat Station, the Vivo X300 Pro may arrive with a powerful triple rear camera setup featuring a 200 megapixel periscope telephoto lens. This sensor, said to be 1 over 1.4 inches in size, could make it one of the most advanced telephoto units on any smartphone today. The leak also claims that Vivo will pair this with two more 50 megapixel sensors. One will be an ultra wide angle shooter while the other will serve as the primary camera, featuring Sony’s much-awaited LYT-828 sensor. This new sensor promises better light handling, enhanced detail capture, and support for Ultra HDR.
Beyond the camera system, the leak also suggests that the X300 Pro will be powered by the upcoming MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset. This next-generation processor is expected to succeed the Dimensity 9400 that currently powers the Vivo X200 Pro. Though the Dimensity 9500 is yet to be officially announced, expectations are high as it will likely build on the second generation 3 nanometer architecture, offering better power efficiency and AI performance.
For those who followed the Vivo X200 Pro release in 2024, this new leak shows just how much the X300 Pro might step things up. The X200 Pro came with a 6.78 inch LTPO AMOLED display, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a 1.5K resolution panel. Its triple camera setup already impressed, with a 50 megapixel Sony LYT-818 main sensor and a 200 megapixel Zeiss APO telephoto camera. But the X300 Pro appears to be taking everything a notch higher with better sensor technology and new processing power.
Vivo has not yet confirmed any specifications officially, nor has it provided a release timeline for the X300 Pro. However, given that the X200 Pro debuted in October 2024, it would not be surprising to see the X300 Pro land around the same time this year.
If these leaks prove accurate, the X300 Pro could be the most compelling smartphone for mobile photography enthusiasts in 2025. With a blend of large sensor hardware, cutting-edge optics, and MediaTek’s new silicon muscle, Vivo is clearly positioning itself to compete with the best camera phones in the market.
