Samsung seems to be gearing up for the launch of two new wireless earbuds. Fresh evidence has emerged from an APK teardown of the Galaxy Buds Controller app on Wear OS, revealing the names Galaxy Buds Core and Galaxy Buds 3 FE along with their model numbers. While the company has yet to make an official announcement, the discovery suggests a possible near future launch.
According to the report, model number R410 is associated with the Galaxy Buds Core, while R420 corresponds to the Galaxy Buds 3 FE. These additions were spotted in version 1.0.08.38 of the Galaxy Buds Controller app, hinting at Samsung’s ongoing development of a new generation of wireless audio devices. The existing Galaxy Buds FE currently use the model number R400, which further aligns with the naming pattern.
Samsung may choose to simplify its naming strategy with this release. While there was speculation about a Galaxy Buds FE 2, recent information suggests that the device might be rebranded and released simply as Galaxy Buds Core. If that is the case, it would mark a clear move toward a new naming scheme for the brand’s entry level audio products.
The Galaxy Buds Core could serve as the spiritual successor to the original Galaxy Buds FE which debuted in 2023. These upcoming earbuds are expected to bring improvements in both battery capacity and performance. Reports indicate that the Galaxy Buds Core may feature a 500mAh battery in the case and 100mAh batteries in each earbud. That would be a notable jump from the Galaxy Buds FE, which had a 479mAh case battery and 60mAh in each bud.
Adding more weight to these developments, the Galaxy Buds Core was recently listed on the Bureau of Indian Standards website under the model number SM R410. This listing hints that India could be among the initial markets for the new earbuds.
As for the Galaxy Buds 3 FE, details remain limited, but their appearance in the same APK teardown indicates they may launch alongside the Galaxy Buds Core. Samsung is also expected to host a major Galaxy Unpacked event soon, where it might unveil new foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. If timelines align, these new earbuds could be part of that showcase.
More information should become available in the coming weeks as the official launch date approaches. With Samsung’s recent focus on AI driven features and audio enhancements, both the Galaxy Buds Core and Buds 3 FE are expected to attract buyers looking for advanced yet accessible audio devices.
