Lenovo is once again stepping into the gaming handheld space, but this time with a much bigger statement. The Legion Go 2, successor to the first generation Legion Go, has been leaked in detail ahead of its official unveiling at IFA Berlin. The upcoming device is expected to deliver top class performance and portability, but what is catching attention most right now is its rumored price. If leaks are accurate, the Legion Go 2 could be significantly more expensive than some of its closest competitors.
According to reports, the Legion Go 2 could cost between 1049 and 1099 dollars in the United States, which translates to around 92,000 to 97,000 rupees in India. This would make it one of the most expensive gaming handhelds on the market. Lenovo is also expected to price the device at around 999 euros in Europe, placing it firmly in the premium category. Meanwhile, Asus and Microsoft are preparing to launch the ROG Xbox Ally X, which is tipped to be priced around 899 euros in Europe. This makes the Lenovo Legion Go 2 at least 100 euros costlier than the Ally X, creating a sharp price divide between the two gaming devices. MSI has also joined the competition with its Claw A8 handheld, which is expected to be priced near the 1000 dollar mark, intensifying the battle in this growing market.
Leaked images and specifications show that Lenovo is aiming for a cutting edge device. The Legion Go 2 is said to run on the AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor, a powerful chip designed for handheld gaming. The display is expected to support 1200p resolution with a 144Hz refresh rate, giving players smooth and sharp visuals. A large 78Wh battery is also part of the package, promising extended gaming sessions on the go. Another highlight is the detachable controller design, which could make the device more versatile and appealing for both casual and competitive players.
Availability details are still emerging, but early reports suggest that the Legion Go 2 will go on sale in Europe in early September, while US customers may need to wait until November. This staggered rollout indicates that Lenovo is prioritizing the European market for its initial launch.
