The upcoming Google Pixel 10 series is shaping up to be a major leap in smartphone videography. According to recent reports, Google is working on a powerful new stabilisation system that could bring gimbal like smoothness to video footage. This tech promises to deliver professional grade stability without needing any extra equipment, and it is expected to be available across the entire Pixel 10 lineup.

Video has always been one area where Pixel phones lagged slightly behind rivals like the iPhone. But this move could finally change that. The advanced stabilisation is said to significantly reduce shakes and jitters, offering a seamless video recording experience even during motion heavy scenarios.

This year, Google is expected to release four models under the Pixel 10 series   the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Design wise, these devices are likely to carry forward the familiar Pixel look with flat edges, a signature camera bar across the back, and thinner bezels. Leaked visuals suggest the design will feel refined yet familiar for Pixel fans.

The colour palette for the Pixel 10 lineup also seems to be expanding. The standard Pixel 10 might launch in Iris, Limoncello, Midnight, and Ultra Blue. These shades include tones from previous Pixel models as well as fresh takes like a bright royal blue and a deep grey. Meanwhile, the Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL are expected to arrive in Light Porcelain, Smoky Green, Sterling Grey, and Midnight. The foldable Pixel 10 Pro Fold could come in two options   Smoky Green and Sterling Grey.

On the hardware front, the Pixel 10 phones are likely to be powered by Google’s next generation Tensor G5 chip. Built by TSMC, this new processor is expected to deliver much better performance, cooler thermals, and greater power efficiency compared to previous generations. Many users have previously voiced concerns about heating issues in Pixel devices, and this upgrade might be the fix they were waiting for.

Software is also a big focus. The Pixel 10 series will reportedly ship with Android 16 and new AI tools that enhance the user experience. Features like Sketch to Image, Speak to Tweak photo editing, and even AI driven video edits will run directly on the device without needing cloud processing. These tools are designed to make creative tasks easier, faster, and more intuitive.

In terms of camera hardware, there are rumours that even the standard Pixel 10 may get a telephoto lens, a feature usually reserved for the Pro versions. This means more users could gain access to zoom capabilities without paying a premium. However, some cost cutting could happen in other areas like the ultra wide lens, which might use a sensor similar to the one in the Pixel 9a. Despite this, Google’s computational photography often manages to deliver stunning results regardless of hardware limitations.

The Pixel 10 series is expected to launch on August 13, with pre orders likely opening the same day and shipments beginning around August 20. With the launch approaching fast, more details are likely to emerge in the coming weeks.
