Microsoft has unveiled a new feature called Copilot Shopping that brings an AI powered end to end shopping experience to its Copilot app. Available on mobile and web, and expected soon on desktop AI PCs, this new tool allows users to discover, compare, and purchase products across various platforms in a single app.
Copilot Shopping is designed to act as a complete assistant for users, starting from product discovery all the way to checkout. With this feature, users can compare prices from different online stores, read user reviews, and access summaries that explain a product's features and usability. The system even helps suggest products based on simple or complex prompts, such as asking for the best gear for new runners or finding gift ideas for a specific occasion.
The interface displays results in the form of interactive visual cards. Each card highlights key pros and cons, customer reviews, and technical details. Once a user selects a preferred product, Copilot presents multiple online store options along with pricing so users can choose the best deal. If a user is not ready to buy, they can activate a price tracker. This allows them to set a desired price point and receive a notification when the product drops to that range.
The shopping experience is further enhanced with a native checkout system. Users can make purchases directly within the Copilot app, eliminating the need to visit third party sites. Microsoft also allows price history tracking, providing insights into the product's recent selling trends so users can make informed decisions.
This rollout places Microsoft alongside Google and OpenAI, both of which have also introduced AI based shopping features. The addition of native checkout, price alerts, and curated suggestions makes Copilot Shopping a strong player in the AI retail assistant space.
