Mark Zuckerberg has shared a sweeping vision for what he believes is the next major chapter in human evolution with technology. In a powerful public letter released on Meta’s website, the CEO revealed that the company is now fully focused on building “personal superintelligence” a form of AI that empowers individuals rather than being governed by central authorities or systems.

Zuckerberg’s message arrives as Meta's Superintelligence Labs gains momentum, led by Alexandr Wang, the former CEO of Scale AI. His statement makes one thing clear: Meta is not just chasing artificial general intelligence like some of its competitors, it is trying to reshape how humans interact with machines on a deeply personal level.

Zuckerberg believes the world is entering a new era of personal empowerment, where AI will not simply be used to automate tasks and eliminate work, but instead to accelerate progress and enhance human capabilities. According to him, superintelligence should serve individuals in their daily lives, acting as a personal assistant, creative partner, and problem solver all tailored to each user's needs.

In contrast to companies like OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, or xAI, which are building centralized models to benefit humanity as a whole, Meta is taking a different path. Zuckerberg questioned whether humanity should rely on a centrally governed superintelligence that controls all valuable work and simply offers humans the leftovers. He sees this as a limiting vision and advocates instead for tools that give power directly to people.

Perhaps the most striking part of his vision involves the role of hardware. Zuckerberg predicts that as AI becomes more integrated into our lives, traditional devices like smartphones and laptops will fade. He believes that smart glasses will become the dominant computing tool of the future. These wearables, he says, will understand context in real time, seeing what users see, hearing what they hear, and providing constant support throughout the day.

This announcement also comes at a time when Meta is enjoying a positive financial streak. The company reported solid growth in the second quarter of 2025, including a six percent rise in daily active users and a notable increase in advertising revenue.

While it remains to be seen how quickly Meta’s vision will become reality, one thing is clear Zuckerberg is betting big on AI becoming a deeply personal part of our daily lives. And with Meta’s ecosystem already touching billions, the impact of that shift could be massive.
