Adobe is taking its Firefly video model to the next level. In its latest update, the company has introduced a sweeping set of improvements that dramatically boost video creation using artificial intelligence. From more realistic motion to creative style presets and custom sound effects, Firefly is becoming one of the most dynamic AI video tools currently available. These upgrades reflect Adobe’s deeper commitment to reshaping the video production process, especially for creators who want speed, flexibility, and control without sacrificing quality.

At the core of this update is the new and improved motion generation. Adobe’s Firefly already supported physics-based animation, but the latest model pushes boundaries by producing much smoother transitions and lifelike motion. Whether it's characters walking, leaves rustling, or clouds drifting, the animations now appear more fluid and natural, enhancing both 2D and 3D content. These changes will be felt across professional-level projects and casual creative work alike.

One of the standout features in this upgrade is the ability to use reference videos. Users can now upload their own clips, and Firefly will use that original composition to guide how the AI generates the new video. This gives creators a much more direct and intuitive way to achieve precise results, making prompts less frustrating and results more predictable.

Style Presets are another big highlight. Instead of relying solely on written prompts, creators can now select specific styles such as claymation, anime, line art, or 2D directly within the interface. Firefly will generate videos that reflect the chosen artistic direction, offering visual consistency and creative control. Additionally, users can upload keyframes   the first and last frames of a desired video   allowing Firefly to create videos that preserve structure, format, and framing across the animation timeline.

In another leap forward, Adobe is integrating third-party AI tools into Firefly Boards. Tools like Topaz Labs’ Image and Video Upscalers and Moonvalley's Marey will now be accessible, expanding the capabilities for fine-tuned post-processing. Luma AI’s Ray 2 and Pika 2.2 are also gaining video generation support, adding new possibilities to workflows already powered by AI image creation.

Audio is getting its own AI boost too. A new tool called Generate Sound Effects has entered beta and it allows users to layer custom audio over their generated videos. You can input sound using text prompts or even record your voice. Firefly will match the timing and emotional tone of the video, generating sound effects that sync perfectly with visual cues and character actions.

Firefly is also getting closer to full avatar-led video production. Adobe is adding a Text to Avatar feature that turns written scripts into complete videos with customizable avatars, backgrounds, and voice accents. This could prove to be a game changer for educational creators, explainer content, and corporate training modules.

These new features are available for paid users on the Firefly web app, with more tools set to roll out across mobile platforms soon. By blending advanced motion AI, sound design, and visual style guidance into one powerful toolkit, Adobe is making video creation faster, easier, and more expressive than ever.
