The smartphone comes powered by Samsung’s own Exynos 1330 processor, offering reliable performance for everyday use and gaming. It runs on the latest OneUI 7 based on Android 15, ensuring a smooth and updated software experience backed by Samsung’s promise of long-term support.

Price and availability

The Galaxy M17 5G is available in two color options — Moonlight Silver and Sapphire Black. The pricing starts at ₹12,499 for the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, ₹13,999 for the 6GB RAM option, and ₹15,499 for the 8GB RAM model.

As part of the launch offers, Samsung is providing a ₹500 bank discount and up to 3 months of no-cost EMI on leading bank cards. The device will go on sale starting October 13 on Amazon, Samsung’s official website, and select retail stores across India.

Display and design

The Galaxy M17 5G sports a 6.7-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U display with a 90Hz refresh rate, offering vibrant colors and smooth scrolling. With a peak brightness of 1,100 nits in High Brightness Mode, users can expect clear visibility even under direct sunlight.

The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, adding durability to daily use. The phone also carries an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, providing basic protection against splashes and minor exposure.

Performance and hardware

Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy M17 5G runs on the Exynos 1330 chipset built on a 5nm process, paired with the Mali-G68 GPU for enhanced graphics performance. The device offers multiple RAM options — 4GB, 6GB, and 8GB — and 128GB of internal storage. Users can also expand the storage up to 2TB via a microSD card slot.

The phone promises reliable multitasking and seamless app performance for users who want speed and efficiency on a budget.

Camera setup

Samsung has equipped the Galaxy M17 5G with a versatile triple-camera setup. It features a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization for sharp, blur-free shots, a 5MP ultra-wide lens for landscape and group photos, and a 2MP macro lens for close-up photography.

On the front, there is a 13MP selfie camera that delivers crisp selfies and supports clear video calls. The camera app includes several AI-powered modes to enhance photo and video quality, catering to both casual users and content creators.

Battery and software

The smartphone packs a 5,000mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging through a Type-C port. While the charger is not included in the box, the device is compatible with Samsung’s fast charging ecosystem.

Running on OneUI 7 based on Android 15, the Galaxy M17 5G delivers an intuitive and refined interface. Samsung promises up to six years of OS and security updates, giving the phone an edge in software longevity compared to most rivals in its price range.

Additional features

The Galaxy M17 5G features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for quick unlocking, along with a single bottom-firing speaker for audio playback. Connectivity options include NFC, Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 802.11, dual 4G VoLTE, and 12 5G bands for wide network compatibility.

While it doesn’t feature stereo speakers, the phone makes up for it with its vibrant display and efficient battery life, making it a strong all-rounder for entertainment and day-to-day tasks.

A strong budget 5G contender

With its combination of a smooth AMOLED display, solid build, dependable cameras, and long software support, the Samsung Galaxy M17 5G stands out as one of the most value-driven 5G smartphones in the under-₹15,000 segment.

Samsung continues to strengthen its foothold in India’s competitive midrange market, and the M17 5G adds to that legacy by offering a polished experience that feels more premium than its price tag suggests.
