Samsung’s popular Fan Edition series might see a significant leap in display technology with the Galaxy S25 FE. According to a recent report, the upcoming device is expected to feature a 6.7 inch flexible OLED panel. This would mark a major shift from the rigid OLED technology used in the previous models and could give the affordable flagship a sleeker and more premium look.
The new flexible OLED panel is said to help make the phone thinner and more attractive. Unlike rigid OLED screens, flexible displays can curve along the edges, allowing for slimmer bezels and a uniform design that looks closer to Samsung’s premium Galaxy S lineup. This change will also reduce the noticeable bottom chin that often makes phones feel less modern. Samsung is reportedly starting mass production of this display panel soon, indicating that the launch of the Galaxy S25 FE may not be far off.
While the overall dimensions of the phone are expected to remain similar to the Galaxy S24 FE, the use of a flexible OLED panel will bring several visual enhancements. Thinner borders and a more seamless screen experience will align the new FE model more closely with Samsung’s flagship offerings. This move could be part of a larger strategy to refresh the FE lineup and make it more appealing against strong competition from Chinese smartphone brands that often offer better specifications at similar prices.
In addition to the display, there are also reports of an improved front facing camera. The Galaxy S25 FE might feature a 12 megapixel selfie camera, replacing the 10 megapixel shooter found in the current S24 FE. This new sensor is the same one used in the Galaxy S25 flagship series and would mark a meaningful upgrade for users who prioritize front camera performance. Selfie quality, video calls, and social media content creation could all benefit from this enhancement.
However, there is still some uncertainty about the phone’s processor. Samsung has not yet confirmed whether it will continue with its in house Exynos chipsets or opt for MediaTek processors in the upcoming model. Previous Fan Edition devices have featured a mix of chipsets depending on the market, and Samsung may follow a similar approach again.
Although the rear camera setup is not expected to change significantly, the focus on visual appeal and front camera quality signals Samsung’s intent to fine tune the FE experience for users who want flagship design and balanced performance at a lower price. The Galaxy S25 FE could offer a compelling package if these updates are implemented successfully.
With the introduction of flexible OLED displays, Samsung may finally blur the lines between its flagship and Fan Edition devices. As the phone makes its way through certification stages and production milestones, an official announcement is likely to follow in the coming months.
